More severe weather is expected in the central United States on Saturday after multiple tornadoes roared through the region earlier in the week, including a violent EF-4 twister that caused significant damage and multiple injuries in Oklahoma — the start of a dangerous multiday stretch of severe thunderstorms for the region.
Chicago-area residents should prepare for a storm expected to hit on Monday that has the potential to bring "all hazards," including tornadoes.
Severe weather is ramping up across parts of the U.S., with storms expected to develop over the next three days from the Plains to the Midwest.
A combination of heat, dry air and strong winds are fueling "extreme" wildfire risks for millions across the middle of the country.
"Large hail quarter to golf ball size is the primary risk with damaging winds also possible this evening," the weather service said.
